Call for Dance workshop leaders / Facilitators:

FLUX was founded in 2012, it is a dance-theatre company that specialises in scientific public engagement. Their Educational Outreach has been formed in response to government initiatives to increase the amount of students studying STEM subjects in further and higher education. Their work is at the forefront of 'STEAM' education and has been endorsed by some of the UK's leading scientific institutions and supported by researchers, teachers and parents alike.

This year we are staring a new project in collaboration with the IET & IMechE.

FLUX ‘Moving Engineering’ will be delivered to primary and secondary school students in Warwickshire. Where our team of facilitators will lead engaging, inspiring and informative dance sessions working with students to explore programming and coding through dance theatre. It is vital our facilitators can lead well-structured workshops, have strong class management skills and provide an inclusive dance environment.

This is a truly unique project to be part of and we are seeking a new freelance dance facilitator to join our team.

Full training will be provided to the successful candidate and further work may be available on a freelance basis.

This project is 13 dates in total which will be booked between end of April and the start of June 2018. We can offer a degree of flexibility but good availability (9am – 3.30pm) during this time is required.

Requirements:

  • A passion for dance theatre.

  • Based in or willing to travel to Coventry / Warwickshire.

  • Educated to degree level in arts/science based subject.

  • Experience working within a school setting.

  • Knowledge or Interest in Science/ or the willingness to learn.

  • Own car and ability to travel to schools located in Coventry and Warwickshire.
